Harley Davidson Motorcycle Insurance -Typical Cost?

I am a 19-year old male who has been riding a motorcycle for about 3 years and took a rider safety course. I was wondering what possible insurance costs would be for a Harley 883 Sportster, probably a 98 or newer (probably nothing newer than a 2005 though). Specifically, I was wondering about American Family Insurance (but any general info would be appreciated too). I am looking to upgrade my bike (along with the size of my engine, ive been driving a 250 for a while now). I beleive american family cant even cover sport bikes for a rider like me, so i was thinking about getting another cruiser/standard style bike. i have kind of been drawn towards Harley, but if insurance is too expensive, ill have to look for something else. Does anyone have any other suggestions for bikes? or general info? thanks

Too many variables such as where you live, what your driving record is like, what type of coverage you're looking for, etc. Phone and surf around for different quotes. That will be the best way to find out which company is cheapest for you.

Only way to find out is get multiple quotes from various sources, asking here is a bit pointless, as is answering
Check several companies, they vary WIDELY for motorcycles. Progressive gave me the best rate, Gieco was also good, some were more than double the rate.
Cruisers are much cheaper than sport bikes, I do not know about the HD specifically. I have a Honda VTX 1300 and I pay $500 per year in Miami, I quoted a CBR600 sportbike and it was like $2000 I think, that was like 2 1/2 years ago. My agent told me if I was younger she had seem sport bikes where insurance is close to the price of the bike.
I quoted a goldwing just for fun and that was $350, and for a $20,000 bike.
Like I said I do not know HDs but I know they get stolen alot more so this would increase the insurance.
