If you are thinking of getting a motorcycle, you may want to hold off until you find out about getting insurance for that hog. The price to insure a motorcycle is much different than the price of regular car insurance.
A good part of this reason relates to the danger that goes along with motorcycle ownership. Motorcycles are considered much more dangerous than cars for many reasons including that those riding them are much more likely to try to speed or show off as well as the chance for injury is much higher if there is an accident.
Also, what is the cost of each insurance? And which one should I get? I am 18 and going and live in PA. Thanks to anyone who could help.

It is the same as with car insurance. If you only have liability, then you are covered for accidents you cause and the insurance company will pay out to the other driver (up to policy limits). Damage to your bike will not be covered. Basic liability isn’t too expensive, but it depends on your age and the size of your bike’s motor.
I prefer one that will provide same day proof of coverage. My hubby was stopped on Friday after work and we need this as soon as possible. Thanks!!
I guess I should have provided more info… In no way are we trying to scam anyone. He finally finished repairs (lower end and chain) on Wed. and yes he rode it two days w/o ins. I made the mistake of not getting it sooner…and all we wanted was to get the temp. ID card so we could get the bike out of impound before the rate got out of hand.
